She will now stop referring to herself in the third person.
So, I'm thinking of getting a tattoo, the beginning of a larger design in involving geometric shapes. I have no problem with this as I'd love to be transformed into a living work of art, and once I'm 20 (I'll be a junior in college by then), that will be my birthday give. I will be travelling down to Manassas, VA to get the work done at Exposed Temptations, one of the best tattoo parlors in VA. This will happen in May, while in December, I will be going down there to chat about my design.
My only problem is this: The Jewish religion prohibits any self-mutilation of the body (I believe this is written in Leviticus), and with the Holocaust, many Jews balk at the idea of getting a tattoo, even if it is voluntary. Now, I love being Jewish, I really do, but will God still love me if I get body art? He has done so much for me, but I'd really like to turn into a living piece of art. Granted, both Mom and I have our ears pierced, which in itself is mutilation of the body, and many reform Jews do have their ears pierced. I will be talking to the rabbi at Staunton's reform temple when I get back to college, but what do you guys think?
